Jack Dennis

Jack Dennis' professional fly fishing career began at the age of 12 when he sold his first flies. He started guiding visiting anglers at the age of 14 and continued to do so for a number of years. He now continues to run his flyfishing guide business whose clients include U.S. presidents, sports figures, and movie stars, such as Tom Selleck.

At 19, Jack opened his first fishing tackle business in Jackson, Wyoming, which has become a well-known international fly fishing emporium. Outside magazine picked Jack Dennis Outdoor shop as the best fly shop in America in their 2001 "best of the best" issue.

Jack's books, Western Trout Fly Tying Manual, Volumes I and II, have sold over 300,000 copies, making them some of the best known fly fishing books in the world. He has also produced over 40 DVD's that have received critical acclaim throughout the fly fishing world. Jack's newest book is Tying Flies with Jack Dennis and Friends has been a best seller in fly fishing books. He runs Snake River Books from his location in Jackson Hole.

Jack's fame as an expert fly fisherman continues to grow. He has appeared in a number of fishing shows, some of which have won awards. He is presently is the co-host of the series FLY FISH on the cable Outdoor Life Network Channel, which features Jack teaching flyfishing techniques in some the West's best streams.

In the fall and winter months, Jack is found on the lecture tour giving programs to fishing clubs, sports shows and civic groups throughout the United States and the World. Cortland Line Company appointed him their fly fishing spokesman 9 years ago. Jack has been involved for years with the development of tackle, endorsing such companies as Abel Reels, Simms, Adventure Hardware, Action Optics, Umpqua Feather Merchants, Frontiers Travel and St Croix Fly Rods.

Jeff Currier

Jeff Currier is a fly fishing maniac! He resides in Victor, Idaho with his wife Yvonne where he bases his career in fly fishing. For 20 years he has worked at the Jack Dennis Fly Shop in Jackson, Wyoming where he presently manages all fishing operations.

He has taught the skills of fly fishing, guided fly fishers throughout Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park and escorted anglers to fishing destinations throughout the world. When home, Jeff can be found either writing, or more frequently, painting fish. Jeff's original watercolors are always in high demand. Jeff has made many television appearances including Fishing the West, Fly Fishing the World, In Search of Fly Water, Reel Adventures, Fly Fish TV and Fly Fish America. His articles, photographs and artwork have graced the pages of magazines, catalogs, brochures and books. Jeff is the author of Currier's Quick and Easy Guide to Saltwater Fly Fishing and Currier’s Quick and Easy Guide to Warmwater Fly Fishing guide books. These books have become the standard introductions to saltwater and warmwater fly fishing.

During the winter months, Jeff can be found lecturing throughout the United States and Canada on nearly every aspect of fly fishing. He demonstrates fly casting, teaches seminars on the basics to the advanced skills of fly fishing and presents many fly fishing destination programs ranging from his home waters in the Rockies to the most remote corners of the globe.

Although Jeff spends much of his time fly fishing for trout, he chases many other fish types as well. He is a walking encyclopedia of fly fishing for species worldwide. He has currently taken over 175 kinds of fish with a fly rod from both fresh and saltwater in nearly forty countries. He is constantly developing techniques for catching the most exotic fish imaginable in places where even the most avid adventurer refuses to go. His most recent travels have found him chasing tigerfish in Africa, payara in Venezuela and mahseer in India.

Jeff’s most renowned accomplishment was leading Team USA to its first ever top-ten finish in the World Flyfishing Championships in Jaca, Spain. During the competition Jeff managed to fool fish on every venue met and place third in the individual standings, becoming the first North American ever to take home a medal in the twenty-six year history of the event.

Jeff brings a sense of humor, enthusiasm and over thirty-five years of fly fishing to wherever he goes.

Scott Sanchez

Scott started fly fishing and fly tying at the age of 12. He grew up in Salt Lake City and tried his self-taught fly fishing skills on the trout of the Wasatch front. Fortunately, these fish were forgiving of novice abilities.

At 14 he taught his first fly tying class. He has worked in the fly fishing industry for over twenty years. This includes being assistant manager at Jack Dennis Sports, wholesale manager at Dan Bailey's, tying flies commercially, helping with video and book production for Snake River Books, guiding, consulting work for Dan Bailey's, working at the Austin Angler and being the Texas rep for Scott Rods. Scott is a member of the Scott Rods Pro Staff, Whiting Pro Staff, and is the former fly tying editor for Fly Fisherman Magazine. He writes the fly tying column for American Angler. He has written the first beginner saltwater fly tying book, Introduction to Salt water Fly Tying and has a book of his trout flies, A New Generation of Trout Flies.

A Never Ending Stream, a book on the tiers and flies that have influenced him is upcoming in the near future, it includes biographies and artistic photos of the flies. He is featured in the video Understanding Fly Tying Materials and has done fly tying demonstrations as well as slide shows, fly tying and fly fishing instruction. He has written articles and sold photos to American and Japanese publications, and his flies have been featured in many books and magazines.

In 1994, he received Peter Crosby Memorial Sportsmanship Award from the Jackson Hole One Fly. In 2007, he received the Arnold Gingrich Lifetime Achievement Award from the Federation of Fly Fishers. His photos have won regional and national awards. Scott has been the featured guide on many national TV programs. Scott is in demand as a program presenter and instructor for fly fishing clubs around the country. He has been around the One Fly Contest since the beginning and his Double Bunny has won the prestigious event three times. Scott is in demand at One Fly time for his bombproof flies. Many consider him to one of the more innovative tyers. He has over twenty years of experience fishing the Greater Yellowstone area. He has fly fished for numerous species in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, California, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Florida, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas, California, the Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Brazil, Belize, and France.

Bruce James

Bruce spent his youth in Phoenix Arizona, where he received a degree in Geology. During his college days he spent his summers exploring the fishing of Colorado where he developed a strong afinity for hiking into small creeks. He spent several years as an exploration geologist before coming to Jack Dennis Sports for the past 32 years. Bruce is a local resident of Jackson Hole.

Before accepting the position as fly fishing guide manager, Bruce paid his dues as a professional guide for many years on Jackson Hole's world renowned waters, including the Snake River, Green, South Fork and numerous waters in Yellowstone Park. As have many others before him, he discovered that the fly fishing opportunities are endless and the challenges to the angler, never ending in the Jackson Hole area.

Bruce spends every available free minute, whether on a day off or vacation, fishing Jackson Hole's rivers and streams, or for that matter, any place their are leaping fish throughout the western USA. Although he sometimes fishes from a boat, his true passion has evolved into fishing small streams and creeks.
